트리니티 작가는 반려견 ‘구름이’와 주인의 관계를 통해, 사랑이 깊어질수록 갈등 또한 함께 커지는 아이러니한 감정을 탐구한다.

주인은 구름이의 털을 윤기 나게 빗어주고, 실크 리본과 진주 목걸이로 꾸며주는 방식으로 애정을 표현한다. 그러나 구름이에게 빗질은 가장 불편하고 싫은 행위이다. 그럼에도 구름이는 주인의 사랑과 관심을 잃고 싶지 않아 이를 묵묵히 받아들인다.

이처럼 서로 다른 사랑의 방식은 점차 어긋나며, 관계 속에는 오해와 불신이 쌓여간다. 작가는 이러한 과정을 통해 서로 다른 사랑의 가치관 사이에서, 가장 사랑하는 존재로 인해 발생하는 포기할 수 없는 감정과 내적 갈등을 섬세하게 드러낸다.

트리니티의 작업은 사랑이 동일한 방식으로 이해되지 않을 때 발생하는 균열과, 그럼에도 불구하고 관계를 놓지 못하는 인간적인 감정을 깊이 있게 보여준다.

Trinity explores the ironic nature of love—how deepening affection can simultaneously intensify conflict—through the relationship between a dog named “GURUMI” and its owner.

The owner expresses affection by grooming GURUMI’s coat to a glossy shine, adorning it with silk ribbons and a pearl necklace. However, for GURUMI, brushing is the most uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. Even so, GURUMI quietly endures it, unwilling to lose the owner’s love and attention.

As these differing expressions of love gradually fall out of alignment, misunderstanding and mistrust begin to accumulate within the relationship. Through this process, the artist delicately reveals the inescapable emotions and inner conflicts that arise between differing values of love—especially when they involve the ones we care about most.

Trinity’s work ultimately captures the fractures that emerge when love is not understood in the same way, as well as the deeply human tendency to hold onto relationships despite those fractures.
